It was Eid holidays again. Like the last holidays, we decided to go for a tour to some nearby place. And this time, we selected to make a trip to the Farasan Islands, located 56 km offshore from Jizan port. We fixed the date of the trip as 03-10-2014, which was a Friday. 5 people were in the group and we started the journey from our accommodations at Baish at morning 6.00 a.m, in our pickup car. The destination was the Jizan seaport. We need to reach there early to catch the first Ferry to the islands, which will start its journey at 7:30 a.m. When we reached the Jizan port office, it was a little crowded. Since it was a holiday, we can see lot of families in there, to catch the ferry. When the office opened, there was a rush & long queue, due to which we missed the 7:30 a.m ferry and got papers for the next ferry at 10 a.m. There is no fee for the ferry travel. It’s free!  All you need is your identity card ( Iqama/National ID/Passport ) & vehicle registrat

It was Ramadan holidays and we decided to visit the Fifa Mountains, which is nearly 100 Km away from our accommodation at Baysh. We heard that it got lot of attractive sites. Fifa Mountains situated in southwest Saudi Arabia near the southern province of Jazan close to the border with Yemen. The mountains are also the highest peak in Jizan. I & my three friends included the team & we started at 8:30 in the morning. The trip was in my car, since I was the only one with a Saudi Driving license among the four of us. From Baysh, we first drove to Sabiya (a small town between Baysh & Jizan) and from there, took left turn. (If you are coming from Jizan, you need to take Right turn, at the Sabiya Round about). The road is very much straight from there, going to Fifa, without any turns. 2012 നവംബര്‍ 26 തിങ്കള്‍.... രാവിലെ 8:15 .... പി.കെ.വേണുകുട്ടന്‍ നായര്‍ എന്ന മലയാളം കണ്ട മികച്ച നാടകാചാര്യന്‍ ഈ പരുഷമായ കപടലോകത്തോട്‌ വിട പറഞ്ഞു. അര്‍ഹിയ്ക്കുന്ന അംഗീകാരങ്ങളോ, പരിഗണനയോ നല്‍കാന്‍ മടിച്ച മലയാളി സമൂഹം, ആ പാവം മനുഷ്യനെ ജീവിതാവസാനകാലത്ത് ഏറെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഒരു കള്ളകേസില്‍ കുടുക്കി ഏറെ അപമാനവും, ദുരിതവും നല്‍കിയ എതിരാളികള്‍ ഒരു വശത്തും, ആ മഹാപ്രതിഭയെ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കാതെ അവഗണിച്ച അധികാരികള്‍ മറുവശത്തും... മികച്ച നാടകസംവിധായകനുള്ള സംസ്ഥാന അവാര്‍ഡ്‌ നാല് തവണ നേടിയ അദ്ദേഹം, അവസാനകാലത്ത് ചികിത്സയ്ക്ക് പോലും വകയില്ലാതെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടി... പി.കെ.വേണുക്കുട്ടന്‍ മാഷിനെ ആദ്യമായി ഞാന്‍ കാണുന്നത് ദൂരദര്‍ശനിലെ ടെലിഫിലിമുകളിലും മറ്റു ചില പരിപാടികളിലും ആണ്. പിന്നീട് എന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ അടുത്തുള്ള ശ്രീ ചിത്തിര തിരുനാള്‍ ഗ്രന്ഥശാലയില്‍ വെച്ച്, പല പ്രാവശ്യം നേരിട്ടും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അന്ന് സ്കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിയായിരുന്ന എനിയ്ക്ക്, മലയാള നാടകവേദിയ്ക്ക് വലിയ സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കിയ ആ ചെറിയ മനുഷ്യന്‍ ഒരു കൌതുകം ആയിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പരിചയപ്പെടാനോ മിണ്ട

2013ന്റെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ നഷ്ടം എന്താണ് എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചാല്‍ ലോകമെങ്ങും ഉള്ള മനുഷ്യര്‍ പറയുന്ന ഒരു ഉത്തരമാണ് ദക്ഷിണാഫ്രിക്കയുടെ രാഷ്ട്രപിതാവായ നെല്‍സന്‍ മണ്ടേലയുടെ വിടവാങ്ങല്‍ എന്ന്. കാരണം അദ്ദേഹത്തെപോലെ സ്വന്തം വ്യക്തിപ്രഭാവം കൊണ്ട് താന്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലത്തെ ലോകത്തിന്റെ മനസാക്ഷിയെ ഇത്ര  ആഴത്തില്‍  സ്വാധീനിച്ച്, ഏവരുടെയും ആദരവും സ്നേഹവും നേടിയ മഹത് വ്യക്തിത്വങ്ങള്‍ അപൂര്‍വ്വം ആണ്. നെല്‍സന്‍ മണ്ടേലയുടെ മരണവാര്‍ത്ത അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്‍ ആദ്യം ഓര്‍മ്മ വന്നത്, നന്നേ കുട്ടിക്കാലത്ത് “ഐപ്സോ”യുടെ (ആള്‍ ഇന്ത്യ പീസ്‌ & സോളിഡാരിറ്റി ഓര്‍ഗനൈസേഷന്‍) ഒരു ജാഥയില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്ത് “നെല്‍സണ്‍ മണ്ടേലയെ മോചിപ്പിയ്ക്കുക” എന്ന് മറ്റു കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം മുദ്രാവാക്യം വിളിച്ച കാലത്തെയാണ്. നെല്‍സണ്‍ മണ്ടേല ----- സ്നേഹത്തോടെ “മാഡിബ” എന്ന് വിളിച്ച, നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്ത് നിന്നും എത്രയോ അകലെ ജീവിച്ച, ആ കറുത്ത ദക്ഷിണആഫ്രിക്കന്‍ മനുഷ്യനെ, നാം എന്ത് കൊണ്ട് ഇത്രയധികം സ്നേഹിച്ചു? കാരണം ഒന്ന് മാത്രം. ഇരുള്‍ എന്നും നിറയുന്ന നമ്മുടെ ലോകത്ത്, നന്മയുടെ ചെറുതിരികള്‍ തെളിയിച്ച്, മനുഷ്യത്വത്തിന്റെ പ്രകാശം പരത്തിയ ഈ മനു
